| West Ham have completed there 5th Summer signing of the summer by sealing a deal for Hapoel Tel Aviv's John Painstil, subject to a work permit and international clearance. |
French clubs Marseille and Rennes and Belgian champions Anderlecht all made offers for the talented 25-year-old, but he now looks set to be the newest happy Hammer in London.
"He is not going to the club offering the most money. West Ham is his first choice. He likes the team and they like him," Painstil's agent Jacky Mouyal revealed.
"The player is very happy. The team are very good, the coach is very good. He is very happy in the city and he saw the stadium yesterday."
Although a recognised right back, Painstil has played all across the back four in the course of winning his 25 full international caps for Ghana.
He becomes boss Alan Pardew's fifth summer signing following the arrivals of Lee Bowyer, Jonathan Spector, Carlton Cole and Tyrone Mears. |
| Leeds United midlfielder David Livermore has sensationaly left Elland Road, less than a fortnight after singing from Millwall |
Leeds have since landed Kevin Nicholls from Luton Town and with another player en route to the club, Livermore has been deemed surplus to requirements less than 2 weeks after signing.
With Livermore unlikely to see much playing time at Elland Road, Hull City have closed in on the 26-year-old midfielder and landed his services for an undisclosed fee.
"At the time of signing David, Kevin Nicholls and another potential midfield target weren't available to us," read a statement on the club's official website.
"We then managed to acquire Kevin Nicholls and things have now opened up on another target. If everyone is fit, he (Livermore) is unlikely to play.
"He's an honest professional and when the opportunity came up for him to talk to Hull we gave him that choice." |

| Total Network Solutions are aiming to try and pull off one of the biggest shocks of all time when they face Liverpool in the Champions League and to help them out they are trying to tempt an Anfield legend to put his scoring boots on once again. |
Liverpool legend Ian Rush might be at the age of 43 but as he showed in the Tsunami charity match at Anfield last season he has lost none of his eye for goal and looked really sharp. TNS managing director Mike Harris is a close friend of Rush and he is hoping to lure him out of retirement for this match. Harris said: "Ian's a big friend of mine. He opened our 500-seater stand four years ago and helped coach our strikers before we played Manchester City in the UEFA Cup two years ago. "I'm sure we'll be talking soon and when we do I'll ask him to put his boots back on. The sight of Ian Rush on the bench against his former club would give the side a massive lift." Meanwhile, speaking before the invitation from Harris to put on his boots once again, Rush welcomed the draw and said it will be a great occasion. Rush said: "I've helped TNS out by training their strikers and I was a non-executive director at the club for a spell. "It's a great draw for a club of their size and I wish them well. If you're going to play Liverpool then this is the time to do it. But I don't anticipate too many problems for Liverpool." |
