Nafti set for long spell on sidelines Published: 2005-08-10 09:41:03
Birmingham City midfielder Mehdi Nafti is set to miss the rest of the year after suffering a serious knee injury in the clubs friendly match against Deportivo La Coruna on Friday
Birmingham manager Steve Bruce said:

"It's terrible news for us and the lad. I just can't believe this injury jinx has struck us again."

"It just sums up our last 10 months. There's no other Premiership club that's been hit like us - we've got major injuries to five key players."

"It looked an innocuous incident when he was injured in Spain.

"You're always a bit worried about twisted knees but we thought he had got away with it, especially as he was able to walk on to the plane without crutches when we flew back."

"He would definitely have been involved in our opening Premiership game at Fulham on Saturday."

Coleman blasts Rovers over Cole Published: 2005-07-15 09:12:46
Fulham manager has told Blackburn to make a bid for Andy Cole or let him get on with his Fulham career.

Coleman said -

"I've been very disappointed in Blackburn. Their chief executive John Williams said on Sky he was interested in signing Andy Cole, which I thought was way off the mark.

"All he's done is unsettle one of our players, our top scorer from last season.

"I wouldn't let one of our directors say that on TV because it's unsettling and we have not had any contact from Blackburn.

"I just wish they'd shut up and let him get on with his career and playing for Fulham. If they want to put a bid in then we can't stop them but they shouldn't talk about it like that."
