Rovers and Athletic have been linked with Valencia and the player's representitive George Urquhart confirmed an English club were keen on the player's signature.

"There is interest from a Premiership club in Luis," Urquhart was quoted as saying

"There are also several other clubs in Europe looking at him, but I think he would like to move to England.

"I believe he has got what it takes to be a success in England with his style of football.

"He enjoyed a successful World Cup and clubs have seen this.

"It all depends on what Villarreal want to do and whether or not they want to let him go."
