West Ham have completed there 5th Summer signing of the summer by sealing a deal for Hapoel Tel Aviv's John Painstil, subject to a work permit and international clearance.
French clubs Marseille and Rennes and Belgian champions Anderlecht all made offers for the talented 25-year-old, but he now looks set to be the newest happy Hammer in London.
"He is not going to the club offering the most money. West Ham is his first choice. He likes the team and they like him," Painstil's agent Jacky Mouyal revealed.
"The player is very happy. The team are very good, the coach is very good. He is very happy in the city and he saw the stadium yesterday."
Although a recognised right back, Painstil has played all across the back four in the course of winning his 25 full international caps for Ghana.
He becomes boss Alan Pardew's fifth summer signing following the arrivals of Lee Bowyer, Jonathan Spector, Carlton Cole and Tyrone Mears.
