Spurs move for Man City Keeper Hart

Sunday, June 1. 2008

Exclusive

football-latest.com understands Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on a deal for Manchester City and England goalkeeper Joe Hart.

The player is set to feature in tonights England international away to Trinidad & Tobago, then fly back to England to complete a medical.

Spurs boss Juande Ramos sees Hart, who was called up to Fabio Capello's England squad this week, as the best-value prospect in the country and wants him to form the foundation to Tottenham's attempt to break into the top four next season.

The fee is expected to be around £10m, though it is not yet known if current Spurs keeper Paul Robinson could move the other way.

Hart, 21, has made only 27 first-team appearances for City in the Premier League, since he joined from Shrewsbury in May 2006 for £600,000 but he is regarded as a future England number 1.

Sven set to accept Mexico job

Sunday, May 25. 2008

An agent acting on behalf of Manchester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson, says he will accept an offer from the Mexican FA to coach the national side.

Agent Juan Carlos Padilla believes Manchester City boss Sven-Goran Eriksson will accept an offer from the Mexican FA to coach the national side.

Padilla claims that the Swede has already agreed terms on a two-year deal to lead Mexico to the 2010 World Cup.

"We already know what the Mexican FA are looking for - we'll accept their terms if they call us again," Padilla told Mexican newspaper La Jornada from Manchester.

"If the Mexican FA decide to take him, he will be their coach and the Mexican national team will be his number one choice.

"It's a contract up to and including the next World Cup, after that we'll see what happens. But for the moment it's a two-year contract."

Eriksson is still under contract at Eastlands but is expected to leave City sooner rather than later following a deterioration in his relationship with the club's owner Thaksin Shinawatra.
